About Us..
Austral Watergardens is a third-generation, family-owned, watergarden nursery.
The nursery was established in 1942 by William Roberts. It was then run by his daughter Edith Metelik for many years and in that time, Edith visited the UK and imported many different varieties of waterlilies back to Australia. Edith’s son Kevin had a passion for water gardening so Kevin and Lisa Metelik have been managing the business for the last 30 years.
Come and visit our Historic Nursery and choose from a beautiful selection of Hardy and Tropical waterlilies, lotus, water iris's and other aquatic plants including Australian native reeds and rushes and flowering aquatics.
The Nursery is dotted with old and new ponds and water bowls filled with plants and fish to give inspiration for your garden.
The property is surrounded by the Mougamurra Nature Reserve with a stunning view of the sanctuary.

By visiting the Nursery you are able to purchase the water plants established in pots
Our Online catalogue - water plants are bare rooted stock that are sent through Australia Post and potted and grown on by you.
Trade - We can offer a discount to landscape gardeners
Garden Clubs and Workshops are welcome - please contact the owners to arrange a booking.
